My name is Veronica, I was born and raised in Mexico, and I have lived in Canada since 2008.
I am a Spanish instructor for Continuing Education programs for adult learners. I started my teaching journey in Mexico 20 years ago, when I changed my Marketing career for the education field. I have been teaching Spanish in Canada the last 12 years. . More than just an instructor, I see myself as an ambassador of the rich Hispanic culture. I love sharing the language, the culture, the traditions and all those things that become part of the Spanish language.
I teach adult students. Learning a language as a grown up is a whole experience, as adult learners deal not only with the language but many times with their own insecurities and fears. I value the courage and determination of my students. I feel honoured to be part of their learning journey. And here’s a little secret… teaching adults is lots of fun! I like to create for my students a space where we can laugh, we can share jokes, make fun of our mistakes and make them feel relaxed and safe. Do I always achieve it? Maybe not. But that’s my goal!
The Spanish Instructor Den is based in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada! And I share the den with my wonderful associates: my husband and our two Mexican rescue dogs: Maya and Bailey. My favourite things? Running and baking!
Welcome to the Spanish Instructor Den!
